Hotel Lisbona, Venice

Despite being given a non-balcony room, I was provided with a very tiny room despite booking a double room for me and my baby. The hotel's service was top-notch, even at 3.00 am, with very pleasant and helpful staff. The location was superb, just a short walk from St Mark's Square. The room and dining were well below expectations, but the place is still a good value for money option.

My room overlooked a small canal which led out into the Grand Canal, where I could watch the gondolas coming and going, sometimes with musical accompaniment. The room and bathroom were clean, and the breakfast offered a nice variety. Don't expect a fancy romantic room you've seen in a movie, but it was very nice and comfortable for two people.
